Wood is well known for its unique and incomparable appearance, but also for its maintenance that is often defined as long, tedious and constant. But choosing parquet effect tiles means choosing the many advantages of ceramic. First of all, unlike wood, which is generally a fairly soft material and therefore deteriorates more easily due to heavy traffic, ceramic wood tiles are highly resistant to wear thanks to their technical properties. Furthermore, wood look tiles do not require a special type of treatment like wood does and it therefore excludes, for example, the application of a protective varnish or wax.
Natural parquet needs to be properly cleaned and some stubborn stains may be more difficult to remove. Parquet effect tiles, on the other hand, are very easy to clean. Thanks to its chemical properties and low porosity, it only requires hot and clear water to be thoroughly cleaned. Stains remain on the surface and are therefore easy to remove. Wooden effect tiles are also much more hygienic because these do not favour the development of bacteria.
Outdoor tiling can change the aesthetics of natural wood on your terrace, for instance, due to frost or bad weather or because UV rays can discolour it. However, wood style tiles do not undergo any changes even when laid outdoors. It therefore keeps its original colour and appearance over time.
In other words, whether parquet tiles are laid inside your home, in a room with a high level of humidity, or outside, if these are carefully maintained and well cleaned, they will maintain their aesthetic appearance for the many years to come!
